Official Transcripts

We require your official transcript to be sent to the Graduate School for record updating. The copy of your transcript uploaded in your admissions application is not deemed official for your student record with Virginia Tech. Failure to submit your official transcript will result in a hold placed on your student account. Once your official transcript has been received by the Graduate School, your record will be updated accordingly.

The Graduate School only accepts official sealed transcripts. Below are the approved methods for submission:

1. Electronic Submission:
   The university may send your official transcript directly to the Graduate School via email at: dcgradschool@vt.edu

2. Mailing Address:
   Your university may also mail the official transcript directly to:
   Virginia Tech – Academic Building One

   Alexandria, VA 22305

For International Transcripts:
If you hold an international transcript, certificate, or diploma, please email dcgradschool@vt.edu to schedule an appointment with a Graduate School Advisor for review of your original documents.

Lastly, if your transcript has already been sent to the Graduate School Office in Blacksburg or to grads@vt.edu, that is acceptable. Just follow up with their specific office to ensure receipt and processing.
