Mohammad Nayeb Yazdi, Ph.D.

Water Resources Engineer

WELCOME!

I am Mohammad Nayeb Yazdi, Water Resources Engineer at USDA-ARS. I am an experienced and motivated engineer with a passion for urban and agricultural water resources and environmental sustainability. Currently, I am collaborating with the USDA and conduct work focused on water management in agricultural areas and developing new guidelines to design BMPs such as retention reservoirs in specialty crops. My overall career goal is to develop novel monitoring methods and frameworks by modeling to advance understanding of ecosystems shaped by human decisions and human-driven consequences (e.g., land-use change), and identify new opportunities to improve water quality and reduce the risk of hydrologic extremes such as floods and droughts. This paradigm will strongly support environmental planning, policy and decision making, and promote more resilient, reliable, and sustainable water systems.
