Listserv Guidelines

1. The listserv should be used to communicate relevant events, programs, information, and resources for the Virginia Tech and Blacksburg LGBTQ+ community

2. The listserv may also be used to aid in the organization of responses to campus, community, and national events that affect the LGBTQ+, Blacksburg, or New River Valley communities

3. When responding to an e-mail on the listserv, please be mindful of whether an individual or “private” response is more appropriate than sending a reply to the entire listserv

4. The following represent the types of communication that may be deemed inappropriate by the Caucus co-chairs:

  • E-mails that are hateful or threatening in nature or are intended to hijack, derail, or troll for the purpose of emotional reactions

  • E-mails that run contrary to the Virginia Tech Principles of Community and include derogatory/discriminatory language related to, but not limited to: “age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, and veteran status.”

  • E-mails that are deemed personal in nature and are unrelated to the business of the LGBTQ+ Caucus – this type of e-mail or information may be more appropriate for the Caucus Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/vtlgbtcaucus

5. Questions about the Listserv guidelines should be directed to the Caucus co-chairs
