A Cooking, Gardening & Food Preservation Series

A Green Thumb in Your Pocket

Our purpose started in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, three community gardens were implemented to provide for the community. We felt that our community could greatly benefit from these gardens and resources that we provide. This year, Wythe County VCE is providing a monthly "how-to" grow, prepare, and preserve educational series to the community. This way everyone can learn and grow Wythe us. Check out our schedule below for when our next class is.

Lend A Helping Hand

In 2020, We gave over 4,000 lbs of produce in donations to the community. The fresh produce was grown and given away to area families and Open Door Café, Wythe County's pay-what-you-can non-profit restaurant. Local farmers, businesses, and Master Food volunteers helped create the 2020 growing season a huge success. The remaining produce was either canned or frozen to be donated throughout the winter months to help our community.
