Big Ideas Competition

The Big Ideas Competition encourages FutureHCI '26 attendees to rapidly generate, share, and discuss bold ideas that could shape the future of HCI research.

Any attendee officially registered for FutureHCI '26 and present in person for the workshop is eligible to participate in the Big Ideas Competition.

The Big Ideas Competition will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 10:00AM to 10:30AM.

The Big Ideas Competition will focus on rapid ideation and asynchronous presentation. The exact format of the competition will be revealed at the start of the event. 

Registered attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the "big ideas" that they believe will be most impactful in the future.

The exact method of judging the winners will be revealed during the Workshop Awards & Closing session. 

Ideas judged to have the greatest potential to shape the future of HCI research will receive certificates recognizing them as FutureHCI '26 Big Ideas Competition Winners.
