Virginia Tech and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will host a one-day workshop on testing strategies for Artificial Intelligence-enabled systems (AIES) using combinatorial testing (CT) on September 04, 2024, at the Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, Virginia.
Workshop Overview

The goal of this workshop is to provide practitioners and researchers with a foundational understanding of combinatorial testing techniques and applications to testing AI-enabled software systems (AIES).
Tutorial and discussion topics will include:
Introduction to combinatorial testing (CT), an overview of applying CT to test traditional software systems, including real-world examples and case studies.
How Test and Evaluation (T&E) of AIES differ from traditional software systems due to the data-driven nature of these systems and large input space, and how combinatorial testing methods can be applied.
Role of combinatorial coverage in data assurance across the lifecycle of AIES, including practical exercises with the Coverage of Data Explorer (CoDEX) tool.
The workshop will be an in-person event.

Virginia Tech Research Center is about a five minute walk from the Ballston-MU Metro Station on the Orange and Silver lines.
Exit the station and turn west on Fairfax Drive. Cross N. Glebe Road, the make an immediate left.
Parking:
If you are driving to the event, a parking garage is located beneath the Virginia Tech Research Center.
The garage entrance is off 9th St N at the corner of Glebe Road.
