Welcome to the Surface Analysis Laboratory, or SAL, a service facility within the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech. Our PHI VersaProbe III Scanning XPS Microscope provides both qualitative and quantitative compositional and chemical state information, and our Ph.D. scientists have over 12 years surface science experience covering both academia and industry. We invite researchers across Virginia Tech, as well as those in the government, industry, and other academic institutions to contact us for research support, collaborations, questions, or other opportunities to serve.
