Advanced Math: 

We continued working with integers rules. We also completed our iReady assessment this week and  we will review all our data in the next few weeks.

Reading

This week we are working on our second set of vocabulary words. Ask your child to show you our 6th Grade ELA Google shared drive to find study resources for their words! We are also close reading a text by famous author, Roald Dahl, as we practice making inferences and supporting our claims with evidence from the text. 

Writing

We are continuing to plan our scary story narratives! The students are coming up with some really great ideas, and I can't wait to watch how they come together as we begin drafting next week! Have your child show you his/her narrative planning document in their Google drive!

We are exploring Human Impact on the Environment. We also learned the TAILS method for graphing and analyzing data.

We took the time to learn about heroes on 9 Eleven and how they could come in various forms - some not even human! We learned about how people come together during times of tragedy and help one another.

In Geography, the students spent all week dedicated to the events of 9/11. We explored basic facts about the cause of the event, the efforts of dogs used in search and rescue, and how humans came together.
