October 12 -16, 2026

Advanced Math: 

This week we continued solving equations but included writing equations.  Students will have a unit test next Tuesday October 20th over expressions and equations. 

 6 Math:

This week we  started a new unit, The Number System. Students will understand integers and rational numbers. They will also be able to compare and order the integers and rational numbers. 

Reading

This week we are finishing our Unit One assessment. As students finish, we are spending some time reflecting on our first quarter experience and goal setting. 

Writing

This week we are formatting our final narrative writing, and we will celebrate that writing with a fun and spooky writing celebration on Wednesday (for thsoe who are finished). Please check with your child to ensure that he/she has submitted their fullywritten narrative on Google Classroom for eligibility.    

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!

I have created a shared Google drive for the students that houses all of our most current ELA resources to help guide them in their work, and it also has resources and links for additional vocabulary practice. Your child is more than welcome to log on and show you! Also in this drive is a document of class and homework assignments and due dates. HERE is the link to help your child stay on top of what we are doing in class and when it should be completed.

We are starting off the week researching the Inka people and their innovations. We will continue learning about the 5 Themes this week too!

In Geography, students are analyzing the five themes of geography within their own school district while also practicing looking at geographical images from around the world.
