Accelerated Math & 6 Math
Accelerated Math:
This week we worked on integer rules. They used the rules in building puzzles and playing battle ship. Next week students will have a quiz over all the rules, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Quiz will be on Thursday.
6 Math:
This week we finished our first unit. We started the week practicing dividing fractions with a breakout box in the library and ended our week with a Topic 1 test. Grades will be updated in Infinite Campus when all students have completed the test. Corrections for 1/2 credit back will be available to all students that would like to improve their grade.

Geography
As a class we examined a torn world map of a previous students work. Students focused on what they liked and where they thought the map could be improved. From there, we created a scoring guide for student work. Students were given time in class to work on their maps. On Wednesday students reviewed peer work and gave them areas to improve and Thursday they will finish the project and student work will be assessed and put in the hallway to be viewed.
Geography
We continue our work with the 5 themes of geography. We are using many types of media to learn about this important concept.
We are also going over routines and class structures daily to make sure we are ready to learn.
Health & PE
In Health, students are still focusing on the three areas of health. Students are also learning about the different health skills and practicing them in class.
In PE, students are learning about the 5 components of health related fitness and 6 components of skill related fitness.
