Accelerated Math:

Welcome to 6th grade math! This week a lot of information was shared with students over expectations and procedures. There is a syllabus on Google Classroom that your student can share with you. We also worked on review some math skills to prepare for 6th grade!

Reading

This week students went over their reading expectations for the year and were able to visit the library for the first time.

Writing

In writing, students have begun working on their All About Me slideshow which will count for their first grade.

This week we made science websites. We made an about me page and shared out in small groups. Students got to give compliments and ask questions about each presenters about me page.

I am excited to teach one section of 6th grade Geography.  We will learn all about the world and how it works through the lens of geography.  We are spending time this week learning our regular class routines, learning the basics of our geography course and teambuilding for students who have never been classmates before this year.

We are learning about continents and oceans using various types of media and applications.

In Health, students set classroom expectations for their peers.

In PE, students are learning various warm-up activities.
