Accelerated Math:

This week we took a quiz over ratios. Grades are updated in Infinite Campus. We then learned about writing rates, unit rates and comparing unit rates. 

6 Math: 

This week we continued working with ratios and rates. Students practiced with unit rate and then started practice with unit conversions. 

Reading

In Reading, students have been looking into the connection between our literature set Among the Hidden and the real world population control in China.

Writing

In Writing, students are continuing to read and write about the effects of the Civil Rights Movement on both history and our present world.

This week we continued learning about phases of matter. We introduced temperature and how it relates to kinetic energy. We finished the week by making posters of famous scientists and inventors to celebrate Black History Month.

Geography

We are wrapping up our unit about the rainforest and deforestation. We have looked at rainfall data, economic data, and the human effect of deforestation. We will finish with a VR 360 tour of a rainforest.

In Health, students continue to work on communication skills.
In PE, students continue to improve their fitness level through participation in various fitness activities and games.
