Accelerated Math:
This week we started a new unit over ratios and rates. Students received volume 2 of their textbook, if they have not already, they can recycle volume 1. Students will have a quiz over ratios on Tuesday February 6th.
6 Math:
This week we continued lessons over ratios and rates. We took a quiz on Tuesday, grades are updated in Infinite Campus.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students finished Among the Hidden and we wrap up the unit with a real study of the population control laws in China.
Writing
In Writing, students looked into the historical timeline of the evolution of Civil Rights in the United States and the impacts it had on society.
Science
This week we started unit 3 energy in the atmosphere. We learned about diffusion and states of matter. We finished the week with a class money reward day. Please be sure to read through notes and study voab nightly to help with these harder concepts.

Geography
Students are working on hand drawn maps of the United States. Students are just using their memory and focusing on specific aspects of the US like the West Coast, Gulf Coast, and Northeast to create the country. Furthermore, students are drawing in the states using their shapes and spelling the state names.
Geography
We are learning about the deforestation of the rainforest. We are looking at various sources of information to see how the plants and animals, environment, and economy are affected.
*Please bring headphones to leave in your backpack for school.
Health & PE
In Health, students learned about the 7 levels of listening and practiced listening tips to be better listeners.
In PE, students reviewed the rules of Pickleball through various scenarios and played the game.
