December 4 - 8, 2023

Accelerated Math:

This week we practiced graphing and solving inequalities.  We also compared graphs, tables and equations. We will test over Topic 4 on Tuesday December 12th. 

6 Math: 

This week we solved one-step equations. Students can solve equations using adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. We will have a quiz next Friday, December 15th. 

Reading

In Reading, students have been progressing with their work in Figurative Language with their Figurative Language stations.

Writing

In Writing, students have been wrapping up their Holocaust work with a Socratic Seminar and the discussions were incredible.

This week we diagnosed our last patient with acid reflux as we learned about the digestive system. We finished the week with an open note test. Next week we will wrap up organ systems before moving on to unit 2 - genetics.

We have spent time this week learning about architecture around the world.  Specifically, how does the architecture of a place help us understand the people who live there?  We have examined Dubai, Angor Wat, Washington DC, India, South America, and Mexico.
