Accelerated Math & 6 Math
Accelerated Math:
This week students practiced solving one and two step inequalities. Students also started a project, Math Menu which is due on Monday January 29.
6 Math:
This week students continued learning about ratios. We practiced with equivalent ratios and comparing ratios. We will have a quiz on Tuesday January 30, over ratios.
ELA
Reading
In Reading this week, students are finishing our literature set Among the Hidden. We will wrap it up with a study of real world population control regulations.
Writing
In Writing this week, students are beginning the Civil Rights section of our unit by looking at a timeline of the most important/impactful moments that lead to or shaped the Civil Rights Movement as a whole.
Science
This week we practiced giving feedback. We finished the week learning about states of matter and doing a mini lab. This unit can be tricky, so please be sure to ask for help and study vocab at home starting next week.

Geography
We are focusing on Global Immigration into Missouri. Topics include:
To what extent has culture in Missouri remained the same or changed over time?
To what extent has immigration into Missouri impacted economic development and innovation?
How did immigration into Missouri affect peoples’ lives, communities, and the world?
How did a large number of immigrants impact the culture of Missouri?
Geography
We started our new unit this week - The Rainforest! We will explore all areas of the rainforest habitat, the animals that reside there, and the destruction of them.
Health & PE
In health, students assessed their listening habits as we continue to work on communication skills.
In PE, students graphed how their heart rate changed while doing different activities and started a Pickleball unit.
