Accelerated Math:
This week we discussed I-ready data and they should have brought home a paper with their scores on it. We also worked on inequalities, applying skills that are introduced as 7th grade curriculum.
6 Math:
This week we discussed I-ready data and they should have brought home a paper with their scores on it. Students received a new text book (vol 2) and we started the new unit over Ratios and Rates.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students are progressing and reading Among the Hidden while completing slideshow answers every two chapters.
Writing
In Writing, students are progressing through our X-Men and Civil Rights unit. So far, students have discussed the discrimination that mutants dealt with in the comic books.
Science
This week we took NWEA which is a science benchmark test. We will talk about scores, growths, and goals next week.

Geography
Geography
We created data stories this week using raw data from multiple sources, but specifically earthquake magnitude data. We charted it, then we wrote narratives explaining it.
Health & PE
In Health, students are working on communication skills. Students discussed what respect looks like, sounds like, and feels like, as well as explained how they show respect in different situations.
In PE, students learned three different methods of finding their pulse rates and found their resting heart rate. Students continue to work on improving their cardiovascular endurance and muscular dtrength and endurance.
