Accelerated Math & 6 Math
Accelerated Math:
This week we finished Topic 2 over rational numbers and integers. Grades will be updated in Infinite Campus. We are started Topic 3 over numerical and algebraic expressions and students talked about their data to create a student portfolio.
6 Math:
This week we continued Topic 2, students practiced finding distances between points or finding perimeter of polygons on coordinate planes. Students will have a test over Topic 2 on Wednesday October 18.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students have been practicing writing an introduction summary paragraph as part of a larger literary analysis. We also started our large summative assignment called a One Pager for a book that students should have read. Instructions are on Google Classroom.
Writing
In Writing, students have been finalizing their parts of speech unit with their last quiz over Adjectives and Adverbs.
Science
This week we learned about organelles. We had a homework assignment that was due at the start of the day on Friday. We ended the week with a science skill Friday learning about time management skills as we researched different cell types.

Geography
Students demonstrated their knowledge of the Five Themes of Geography by designing, building, and changing a piece of land in Minecraft. Students were given a set piece of land and asked to create a structure that would interact with the Five Themes of Geography. Students presented their work to class.
Geography
We began learning about the 50 statesof the USA. We played games online, put a puzzle together, and we looked at and analyzed various maps.
Health & PE
In Health, students are learning about goal setting and will be setting fitness goals for the school year.
In PE, students are fitness testing and learning about the 5 Components of Health related Fitness.
