Accelerated Math:

This week we evaluated and simplified algebraic expressions. 

6 Math: 

This week we simplified numeric expressions using order of operations. We will have a quiz on Wednesday 11/8 over exponents/powers, GCF, LCM and order of operations. 

Reading

This week students wrapped up practicing writing claim, reasoning, and evidence based answers to scary stories.

Writing

This week, students put their final touches on their Multimedia short stories and projects. November 3rd was the due date. Next week, we move on to a new unit with nonfiction.

This week we practiced writing claim, evidence, and reasoning. We enjoyed a fun reward day at the end of the week. Next week we get another patient as we learn more about body systems.

Students are presenting their major landform project in class to their classmates and explaining why each landform they used demonstrates a major landform.  Feel free to ask your student what a major landform is and which ones they used.

Geography

We are learning about the states of the USA. We will use maps, apps, and games to practice.

In Health, students had a guest speaker from CHADS Coalition, worked on setting SMART Goals, and had a guest speaker from CAAP.

In PE, students played Zombie Matball on Halloween, and did workout stations while learning about the benefits or Aerobic Exercise.
