October 2 - 6, 2023

Accelerated Math:

This week we worked with integers and rational numbers on coordinate planes by plotting points, finding distances and finding perimeter of polygons.  We also reviewed all topics in Topic 2 for the test next week. Test is on Tuesday, October 10. 

6 Math: 

This week we worked on absolute value, plotting points on a coordinate plane and finding the distance between two points on a coordinate plane. We had a quiz on Tuesday, grades have been updated on Infinite Campus. Quiz corrections are always available.  

Reading

In Reading, students continued to develop skills in summarizing texts. We are also continuing our weekly progress with our Red-Hot Root Words vocabulary.

Writing

In Writing, students are continuing to progress their writing skills by learning the parts of speech and how they interact with one another in sentences.

This week in science we collected bacteria samples and days later made observations on the growth. We learned about the cell membrane and will continue learning about organelles next week.

We finished the whole group geography analysis, the small group photo analysis, now we are completing an independent geography photo analysis.
