October 16 - 20, 2023

Accelerated Math:

This week we worked on material from Topic 3. We practiced finding GCF and LCM. Then we simplified expressions with Order of Operations. Students will have a quiz next week on Tuesday October 24. 

6 Math: 

This week we tested over Topic 2 on Wednesday. Grades are updated in Infinite Campus. We also began Topic 3, with writing and evaluating powers. 

Reading

In Reading, students are practicing stating their claim, explaining their reasoning behind their opinion, and then providing evidence. Students also have their second Red-Hot Root Words test this Friday.

Writing

In Writing, students have begun their very large Multimedia Project. The project will consist of a 45 point fictional short story, then two 10 point projects to go with it. The entire project revolves around one topic of the students' choice. The projects can be anything that the students can create to connect to the topic.

This week we got our first patient and learned about the skeletal system. We are on track to dissect chicken wings next week.
