The summer has ended,
The school year has begun.
But this year is totally different,
I promise we'll have fun!
Welcome to my classroom,
I can't wait for school to begin.
A lot of fun things planned,
I can't wait to see you again!
I am honored to be your second grade teacher this year. I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing, and exciting summer. I would like to welcome you to my classroom where lots of learning and fun will happen. We are going to have a wonderful year! See you soon!
Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),
Greetings! I am your child’s 2nd grade teacher and I am very delighted to have your child in my classroom this year. I am looking forward to a very successful school year, and I know that you are too. I have high expectations for your child, and I will be doing all that I can to help your child achieve these expectations. In order to reach this goal, lots of patience, time, understanding, compassion, cooperation, and work between the student, parent, and teacher will be needed.
In order to have the best learning conditions, students will be expected to follow all of the rules listed in the classroom. Students must respect and work fairly with each other in all areas of study. They will be rewarded for following rules with items like candy, stickers, prizes, and special privileges. Students who break classroom rules will receive a lowering of their conduct grade as well as a loss of privilege.
Please make sure that you check your child’s folders each night and review the work they have done in class.
Periodically, I may send a note home with your child regarding a schedule for a parent/teacher conference. Such a conference does not necessarily indicate problems; often, it is to update both parent(s)/guardian(s) and teacher or may be “preventive medicine” to head off potential problems.
Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. Please feel free to call, write, or come by with any questions or concerns that you may have. I know this will be both a successful and fun year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nicole Touchette
