Monday 10/24: We will view a powerpoint on Story Elements and discuss the characters and setting elements. Students will fill out the powerpoint companion on story elements as we proceed through the powerpoint. We will complete centers and work on practicing our spelling words.
Tuesday 10/25: We will continue learning about story elements on our powerpoint and take notes on our companion while learning problem and solution. We will complete centers and work on practicing our vocabulary words.
We will review our new vocabulary words. Students will complete author's perspective centers for additional practice.
Wednesday 10/26: Social Studies- We will view a video about local government
We will read a text about local government and highlight key points
Students will take a quiz about local government (open notes)
We will work on writing spooky stories with the story elements of characters, setting, and problem/solution.
Thursday 10/27: Students will finish up our story elements powerpoint and continue centers for Story Elements and practicing identifying story elements in a scary story.
Friday 10/28: Students will take a spelling and vocabulary test; We will also have a formative test on Story Elements; Progress Monitoring for students (one on one); Pumpkin book report presentations will begin.
