Program Overview
Designed for dedicated musicians, this comprehensive program runs from September through May and offers a deep dive into advanced musical studies. You are welcome to visit the public-facing site for Villa Maria Conservatory.
Beyond the core curriculum, the program fosters a vibrant artistic community, offering unique opportunities to perform and work with local music students right here on campus. While the program remains flexible to accommodate individual needs, it provides a structured pathway toward excellence through two scheduled on-campus performances annually. Furthermore, for students demonstrating specific interest and readiness, our director provides expert guidance for various outside competition, scholarship and summer program opportunities.
The curriculum is built to provide a holistic musical education through five core components, ensuring a balanced development of both technical knowledge and performance artistry. The following are the list of courses:
Music Theory & Ear Training: Building the foundational "language" of music.
Chamber Music: Developing collaborative performance skills.
Solo Coaching: Individualized attention to refine repertoire.
Sight Reading: Enhancing fluency and musical literacy.
Term: September through May (full year).
Sessions: 20 sessions per year.
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Tuition: $4,000 for the full academic year. In the initial year, there is an additional $100 audition/registration fee.
While the program maintains a flexible approach to requirements, it offers robust performance pathways:
On-Campus: Two scheduled performances per year.
Off-Campus: Guided entry into outside competitions, festivals and summer camp opportunities based on student interest and instructor readiness assessment.
