Our Story

Victory In the Family Ministries, Inc. (VITF) is a Christian based private non-profit social service agency headquartered in Highland Park in Wayne County. Since 2003, the mission of VITF has been to support, strengthen, and empower individuals and families through a broad continuum of community-based services that meet the needs of our community. Our strength comes from our willingness and commitment to partner with several other agencies that are also committed to strengthen and empower individuals and Families.

In 2006 VITF merged with People’s Community Church, located in the city of Detroit, MI. Initially we provided assistance to families and individuals living in the North End. We were located in a small office in the church building. The church provided a small budget to help with emergency food, transportation, community clothing closet and some financial assistance.

In April of 2014, we moved our programs and services to a new location because of the need and the growth of our clients. The name of this new center is People’s Community Church Outreach Service Center, in a 10,981 square feet building adjacent to the church. We now provide services and programs to over 400 individuals and families a month. We serve anyone who enters our service center. We have formed collaboration with several other organizations to help, assist, and serve this great need.
