In this unit, we were tasked to redesign our bedroom layout with feng shui in mind, as well as automating one part of our room. I chose to automate my sliding door, because I always have to get out of the chair whenever I want to close or open the door.
Class Driving Question: How can we use scientific principles to design sustainable environments?
Personal Driving Question: How can I improve my bedroom using automation and feng shui to make it more convenient?
I got my DQ from the class driving question becase 1. our topic was about our bedroom, so I picked my bedroom as my location. 2. We were primarily learning about automation and feng shui, so I used that as my scientific and art principle. 3. I picked convenience in my room because right now it is very inconvenient so I would like it to be more efficient and convenient.
My project connects to SDG 9 because of its:
Industry: I'm sourcing my materials from within Taiwan to keep supporting the comunity
Innovation: I'm creatively building my own automated system, instead of buying it from somewhere
Infrastructure: My room or the automated system I'm building
I learnt / applied:
Feng Shui: I learnt the rules of Feng Shui, and how to figure out the flow of energy within my room, as well as identifying the command position(the most restful area) within my room, and how to reorganize my room accordingly so I can maximize the energy when I'm working, and the rest when I'm sleeping.
Logic Box Plots: I learnt how to draw logic box plots, which might be useful later on in life if I want to become an engineer, and I will be able to interpret other logic box plots later on.
Floor Plan: I learnt how to draw floor plans and visualize them onto paper with precise measurements and labels.

What can I improve?:
Using Canva: This time, I used google slides to create my presentation. When I was presenting, I noticed that a lot of people were distracted and not focused. Next time, I can use canva for my presentation, so it would be more visually engaging.

Here are the questions we asked our classmates and Mr.Brand what to change about the classroom.

Collaboration and Feedback:
When we were split into groups and had to present to our 'client' team, I received one piece of feedback from Amber where she commended our content. She said that my body language was good whilst presenting. However, she did not give me any constructive critism, so there was nothing for me to improve upon. I think I did very good for my presentation, and I wished that Amber would've given some more feedback I can improve myself on.
For the collaboration part, I believe that this group did not put in equal collaboration into this project. Renee and I worked far too hard for Jaime to mutter just a few sentences of which volume even I could not hear while I stood next to her. Next time, I can pick better teammates that will equally split the workload and produce competent work.
