I think a good class activity concept would be for us to spend maybe a month, or 3 weeks building our own class currency, then simulating an economy in real life. The teacher could simulate government inflation or deflation, the value of the price fluctuating. This would definitely help us in real life, so we can be prepared for taxes or bills.
One time, we did a class number hunt where we had to go through a series of different math problems, and the answers lead us to more math questions. We had to do all the questions till we finished our paper, which was 20 questions. The topic for that activity was finding the surface area or volume of a shape.
I think I can focus more in class. Currently it doesn't interest me much, and I kind of miss the old math classes with just formulas and stuff.
I can prioritize more math class, because most times I forget about math homework. I can also send my homework or ask for advice to improve or correct my work.
I can also try to try my best, like correcting all my test mistakes and giving it my all.
Identify three things that can be improved in your Math portfolio work
more organization

i think my gsp is ok right now
Connect your math portfolio work to two or more assignments from other classes
in pbl, i had to research information, and i used the lesson of how to read graphs
i make portfolios for my other classes as well, so i can learn new stuff and improve all my other class portfolios
Connect your math portfolio work to an assignment, assessment, or project from a previous math class.
Since we have to write reflections for our gsp, we also used to have to write feedback and our opinions on what we learned.
Discuss a piece of peer feedback, and how you used that feedback to change something shown in your GSP
Albert said that my ecohouse floorplan was too cluttered, so I ordered everything into their respective rooms(kebab machine in the kitchen, etc)
SEL goals are social emotional learning goals that we set at the beginning of the semester. My 6 SEL goals are:
Identify and manage emotions : I want to start thinking about what makes me anxious or angry, and deal with it.
Think critically and creatively : I can spend more time trying to think out of the box instead of opting for a quick and easy solution.
Develop self-awareness and sense of identity : I will try to understand myself if I get too egotistical or I lose my identity of who I am.
Recognize sources of stress and cope with challenges : I will try to identify what stresses me out and I will take a break from it, doing things I enjoy.
Build relationships and communicate effectively : I will try not to be bipolar towards my friends and classmates, and talk reasonably.
Maintain positive motivation and perseverance : I will try to banish my negative thoughts and think of going home.
Honestly, I don't think I've made any progress / improvement on my SEL goals except goal 5. I've been communicating / talking with classmates a lot better.
one memorable thing we learned in math class was how to use google spreadsheets. it really opened up to me on how to do formulaic stuff in sheets, and even do graphs which are customizable. i think this would be very useful if i were to become a banker or accountant when i grow older.
hello mr tony, I have added more gsp material 👍
Writing my SEL journal helps me improve my reflection skills and ability to improve, in all classes since we always need to write reflection. It also helps me with my english, because sometimes I have to look for certain terms.
Last year, I did correlation in my math class. I was really confused by r2, but now that I have the graph, it helps me to understand a lot.
