GRADING

Classwork = 50 % of grade.

1. Accepted online only on the due date. Late classwork is NEVER accepted!!

2. Anyone copying a classwork will receive a “0” along with the person they have copied

from! Copying includes “working together”, “sharing answers”, “borrowing answers”, “helping

someone”, etc. Unless the assignment is a group assignment.

3. classwork responsibility requires planning ahead. If you are having trouble with turnitin.com you

can email me your classwork or bring it in handwritten or typed on the day it is due but it must be

on or before the due date. If you wait till last minute on the night a classwork is due and are unable

to hand it in due to problems, you lose out on handing in a classwork. You should do the classwork at

least one night before it is due to be sure to avoid problems! The lesson for life- plan ahead!

Tests, projects, essays, or papers = 50% of grade

1. There will be a test on each set of chapters (3 first quarter).

2. If you have cut during a test you receive a zero.

3. Anyone involved in cheating will receive a “0” even if they simply aided someone in copying.

4. If you are absent during a test, you have two days after you return to make up the test in the testing

room. After that, the test becomes a definition or essay test.

Final Exam- Covers all material from first and second quarter. This is an exam of 50 questions.

Turnitin.com – you will be using the same password as in politics to access turnitin for your classwork.

Per 1 - pswd = ID = Per 5 pswd= ID = Per 8 pswd= ID =

Cell phones and electronics are not to be seen or heard in class. Once you cross the threshold (doorway) there should be no evidence of any personal technology. If you have your cell phone, headphones or other tech out- it will be taken away and can be retrieved at the end of the day. Repeated offenses are dealt with by AP.

Cuts: will be made up before or after school. I will call home and school procedures will be followed. After the first cut you will then be assigned to after school detention with the assistant principal.

Lateness: you must have a pass, more than one late and you must make up the time before or after school.

Classroom: Please do not use or touch the telephone, computers, my desk, or file cabinets. Computers can be used with permission.

Classroom courtesies:

1. Appropriate language is the only acceptable language in class. Rule of thumb- use a

“civil tongue”.

2. Common courtesy requires that students do not get up in the middle of class to throw

something away. Tissues are provided by the teacher as long as students do not “parade”

around the class to get to them.

3. Students are not allowed to leave for the bathroom during class except for emergencies.

Those who leave must sign in and out and take the pass.

4. Drinks are allowed in class but no food!

5. Returned work is found at the front of the room on the table by the door.
