Mr. Cox grew up in Virginia and went to Southampton High School in Courtland, VA. He graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1998. He received his Masters degree in Educational Technology from Western Connecticut State University. After teaching for 4 years in Connecticut, Mr. Cox came to Lakeland High School in 2003. He is an active member of AMTNYS (Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State) and The New York State Mathematics Honor Society serving on the Executive Boards of both organizations. Mr. Cox is also the advisor for Lakeland Mathematics Honor Society.
Along with teaching math he has built scenery for theatre and has worked on shows such as Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway, the movie The Ex, and the television show Book of Daniel. In past summers he helped build a working two-story tour bus for on stage at Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular.
Mr. Cox serves on the Executive Board of Jamiestock, a not-for-profit that raises money for Diabetes Research and local Community Outreach in the Hudson Valley.
