VILONIA HIGH SCHOOL - LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS
1. VILONIA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
*Any graduating Senior, attending the Vilonia Public Schools
*Minimum GPA - 2.5
*Who has applied or enrolled in any 2 or 4 year Arkansas College of Vocational Technical School for the fall semester of the current year.
*Applicants must be the dependant(s) of a Vilonia Area Chamber of Commerce business entity, their employee or individual Chamber member.
*Applications are in the VHS counselor’s office
*Awards multiple (one-time) scholarships

2. TONY RODGERS MEMORIAL
*Be a senior who attended the last 3 years at Vilonia High School
*Be of good character, proven with 2 teacher references
*Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
*List 2 things the applicant feels they can give back to the Vilonia School District or community in the years to come
*Applications are in the VHS counselor’s office
*Awards one - $500.00 one-time scholarship
*Application Deadline: TBA
3. JIMMY RODGERS MEMORIAL
*Be a senior who attended the last 3 years at Vilonia High School
*Be of good character, proven with 2 teacher references
*Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
*List 2 things the applicant feels they can give back to the Vilonia School District or community in the years to come
*Applications are in the VHS counselor’s office
*Awards 1 - $250.00 one-time scholarship

4. “GIVER OF LIFE” SCHOLARSHIP
*Sponsored by the Vilonia High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America and the Arkansas Blood Institute.
*2.5 GPA
*Must have participated as a blood donor in at least 2 VHS FCCLA blood drives.
*Must plan to attend a 4 year college/university, community college, or technical school within one year of high school graduation.
*Scholarship being awarded is contingent on the number of units of blood collected during the year

5. JEAN MCENTIRE/LOWELL TURNER SCHOLARSHIP
*Must be FFA member
*Applications are in the VHS counselor’s office
*Awards 1 - $500 one-time scholarship ($250.00 semester)

*Must be FFA member

7. PHILLIP WEAVER MEMORIAL
*Graduate of Vilonia High School
*Financial need will be considered

9. PAUL KRISELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
*Must be a strong student in English class or be an athlete

10. TYLER & CAMERON SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
*Must have overcome or are facing an adversity-write essay explaining the situation and how you handled it.

11. SHELTER INSURANCE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
*Awarded to a graduating senior and will be enrolling in a college or university by the September following his/her high school graduation.
*Awards 1 - $1500.00 one-time scholarship

12. ANDY SHAW AGRICULTURAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Must be a Senior at Vilonia High School, Participating in Ag. FFA or 4H, pursuing an education in the Agricultural Industry
Applicants must be graduating/graduated from high school, planning on attending college, university, trade or technical school or a student currently enrolled at a college, university, trade, or technical school
No specific industry-related academic program is required, but individuals pursuing a program in Animal/Meat/Food Science or related Agricultural programs of study will receive special consideration.
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
Applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, and citizenship through participation in high school and community activities
Those applying for this scholarship need to write a short essay concerning the “meat industry today” or give “new ideas” for the meat industry.
A recipient of the scholarship can reapply for the scholarship as long as he/she is enrolled at a college, university, trade, or technical school and still pursuing a degree in an Agriculture related field, while maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA

13. JASON AUBREY LEE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Applicant must be a Senior at Vilonia High School
Applicant must strive to work above and beyond potential
Applicant must plan to attend college, university, trade, or technical school or a post secondary training program
Awards a 1000.00 scholarship (500.00/semester)
Recipient must use the scholarship within one year of being awarded the scholarship
