Acharya Dr. Kaushal Kumar is a distinguished yoga educator and scholar whose life has been shaped by a rare combination of intellectual depth and spiritual devotion. His academic roots began in Economics and Philosophy, fields he studied passionately during his postgraduate years at Allahabad University and later in Delhi. Yet even as he excelled in these disciplines, his heart continued to search for something more meaningful and transformative.
That deeper calling found its answer in 1988, the year he began his lifelong journey into Yoga. What started as a personal exploration soon grew into a powerful purpose, and for the past 37 years he has been teaching Yoga extensively to students in India and across the world. His work blends the ancient wisdom of Yoga with a thoughtful understanding of modern life, allowing people to experience not only physical wellbeing but also emotional clarity and spiritual growth.
A turning point in his path arrived through the guidance of his spiritual guru, Saint Abhilash Saheb. This mentorship shaped his inner and outer journey, inspiring him to study the yogic scriptures more deeply and to live their teachings with sincerity. Motivated by this influence, he pursued advanced academic study and completed his Ph.D. in Yoga. He now also serves as a visiting professor of Yogic Science at Singhania University, where he continues to share the depth of his understanding with students and scholars.
Acharya Dr. Kaushal Kumar is not only a teacher but also a storyteller and guide. He has written 12 books that illuminate the principles and practice of Yoga in a way that feels practical, relatable and uplifting. His insights have reached even wider audiences through various television programs, where he speaks about bringing Yoga into daily life with simplicity and openness.
Those who learn with him often describe feeling welcomed into a journey rather than a classroom. He reminds us that Yoga is for everyone and that its real strength lies in how it helps us find balance, peace and a deeper connection with ourselves. Through his institute and his writings, he continues to inspire people from all walks of life to embrace Yoga as a holistic way of living, one that nurtures the body, steadies the mind and awakens the spirit.
