I am currently a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor in the US) at the School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology, University of Bristol. Before that, I was a postdoctoral research associate in the Machine Learning Group at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. I was lucky to work with Prof. José Miguel Hernández-Lobato at the Computational and Biological Learning Lab. I obtained my PhD degree from the Computer Science and Engineering Department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where I was fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Irwin King. Prior to that, I received my BEng in Computer Science from Southeast University, Nanjing, China.
My research focuses on data-efficient learning for graph-structured data, with a central goal of ensuring trustworthiness—specifically explainability, fairness, and robustness—across its cross-disciplinary applications in social network analysis, natural science, and financial services.
🔥 I am looking for self-motivated students to work with me on the following topics. Details can be found under the Recruitment Page.
LLMs for graph data, Graph foundation models (alignment, agent, RAG, distillation, reasoning, ...)
Deep generative models for graphs in drug discovery (molecular generation, dynamics simulation, ...)
Trustworthy graph machine learning with weak supervision (robustness, fairness, explainability, ...)
Cross-disciplinary Graph Neural Networks applications in time-evolving areas (transaction networks, knowledge graphs, ...)
