If you want superior battery life and deep, immersive sound for long flights or gym sessions, choose ZXQ Neckband; if you need situational awareness, waterproof durability for swimming, and an open-ear design for safety, choose FJX Bone Conduction Headphones. Both devices solve different problems, so the decision comes down to whether your priority is audio fidelity and endurance or environmental awareness and all-weather utility.
• ZXQ Neckband: Delivers up to 100 hours of playtime with rich bass via 10mm drivers, but relies on standard in-ear isolation that blocks outside noise. Best for travelers and commuters who prioritize music immersion and battery longevity.
• FJX Bone Conduction Headphones: Offers IP68 waterproofing and an open-ear design for total situational awareness, yet sacrifices low-end bass response and offers only 4 hours of battery per charge. Best for swimmers, runners, and outdoor athletes who need to hear their surroundings.
The ZXQ Neckband is engineered for people who treat their headphones as a primary source of entertainment rather than just a communication tool. The standout feature here is the massive 800mAh battery, which provides up to 100 hours of continuous playtime on a single charge. In real-world terms, this means you can go weeks without plugging it into a USB-C port, making it an ideal companion for long-haul airplane travel where charging ports might be scarce or shared. Unlike true wireless earbuds that vanish from your pocket or run out of juice mid-flight, this neckband keeps playing. You can listen to podcasts, movies, or music for days straight, recharging it only once or twice a month under average usage conditions.
Sound quality is another pillar of this device's appeal. Equipped with high-level 10mm dynamic drivers, it delivers a frequency response ranging from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a sensitivity of 97 dB. This hardware supports premium sound with rich bass and clear highs, suitable for everything from heavy bass tracks to crisp voice calls. The Bluetooth 5.3 chip ensures a stable connection with fast transmission speeds, allowing you to pair with two devices simultaneously. This is crucial for travelers who might want to switch between their phone and a laptop without fumbling through menus. The 60-millisecond latency is also low enough for video watching, preventing that annoying delay between lips moving and audio syncing.

Comfort-wise, the ZXQ uses an ergonomic angled design that fits snugly into the ear canal. The inclusion of soft silicon ear gels and hooks ensures the earbuds do not fall out during movement, even if you are walking briskly or running. The neckband itself is thick, round, and made of skin-friendly material that distributes weight evenly, avoiding the pressure points common with smaller earbuds. However, because it uses a closed in-ear design, it relies on passive sound isolation. While this helps block out some cabin noise, it also means you are completely cut off from the world around you. If you need to hear announcements or traffic while wearing these, they are not the right choice. They are built for the person who wants to create a private bubble of sound, whether that is in a busy airport terminal or a quiet bedroom.
The FJX Bone Conduction Headphones serve a completely different demographic, specifically those who cannot afford to be disconnected from their environment. By using bone conduction technology, these headphones bypass the eardrum entirely, transmitting vibrations directly to the inner ear through the cheekbones. This "open ear" design leaves the ear canal completely unobstructed. For anyone running near traffic, cycling in a park, or working outdoors, this safety feature is non-negotiable. You can hear cars approaching, people calling your name, or birds chirping while still enjoying your audio feed. It is the ultimate solution for active users who value situational awareness over absolute silence.
Durability is the second defining characteristic of the FJX model. With an IP68 rating, these headphones are fully waterproof and dust-proof. They are designed to withstand rain, sweat, and even submersion in water. The description explicitly notes that you can swim, snorkel, fish, and boat without removing them. This makes them a rare find for swimmers who want to listen to music underwater. To achieve this, the device includes a built-in 32 GB storage card, functioning as an MP3 player independent of your phone. Since Bluetooth signals do not transmit effectively through water, you simply load songs onto the internal memory and use the MP3 mode for a submerged experience. The device is constructed from ultra-light titanium and rubber, weighing only 29 grams, which ensures it stays comfortable behind the ears for extended periods without causing swelling or fatigue.
However, this specialized design comes with significant trade-offs regarding battery life and audio profile. The battery average life is listed at only 4 hours, which is a stark contrast to the ZXQ's 100-hour capability. You will need to recharge it every day if you use it heavily, and the charging time is roughly 1.5 hours. Furthermore, because bone conduction does not seal the ear canal, bass response is naturally limited compared to traditional dynamic drivers. You get clarity and vocal presence, but you will miss the deep thump of heavy bass. Additionally, there is no active noise cancellation or passive isolation; the sound leakage is higher, meaning people nearby might hear what you are listening to at volume. This product is strictly for the athlete, the swimmer, or the cyclist who prioritizes safety and versatility over audiophile-grade sound reproduction.
• Best for Battery Life → ZXQ Neckband: With 100 hours of playtime versus 4 hours on the FJX, the ZXQ wins decisively for long trips and infrequent charging habits.
• Best for Swimming → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones: Only the FJX is IP68 rated and capable of underwater use with its built-in 32GB MP3 storage; the ZXQ has no such rating.
• Best for Sound Quality & Bass → ZXQ Neckband: The 10mm dynamic drivers and closed in-ear fit provide richer bass and better isolation than the open-ear bone conduction method.
• Best for Safety & Awareness → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones: The open-ear design allows you to hear traffic and surroundings, a critical safety feature for runners and cyclists that the ZXQ lacks.
• Best for Airplane Travel (Music) → ZXQ Neckband: The combination of long battery life, sound isolation, and comfort makes it superior for blocking out cabin noise and listening for hours.
• Best for Multi-Device Use → ZXQ Neckband: It supports connecting to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, whereas the FJX focuses on a single connection stream.
• Best for Lightweight Sports → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones: At 29 grams with a titanium build, it is lighter and more secure for high-impact activities like running than the heavier neckband.
• Best for Durability in Water → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones: The IP68 rating ensures it survives rain and submersion, while the ZXQ is only described as waterproof for general exercise.
In my opinion, the ZXQ Neckband is the smarter purchase for most general consumers, especially for airplane travel. The sheer advantage of 100-hour battery life changes how you pack and use your gear; you never have to worry about a dead battery mid-flight. The sound quality is significantly better for music and movies due to the 10mm drivers and in-ear fit. I would buy the ZXQ for daily commuting, long-distance flights, and home listening because it offers a complete audio experience without constant recharging.
However, if your primary activity involves running outdoors or swimming, the FJX is the only logical choice. No amount of battery life matters if you cannot hear a car coming while running on a busy road, or if you cannot take your headphones into the pool. The FJX is a specialized tool for specific safety and aquatic needs. But for the average traveler or office worker looking for a reliable, long-lasting audio companion, the ZXQ Neckband offers far more value and flexibility.
Both work well for students, but the ZXQ is better for studying in noisy libraries due to its sound isolation, while the FJX is safer for students walking to campus since it keeps ears open to traffic.
Yes, both support Bluetooth 5.3 for connecting to PCs and laptops. The ZXQ features a dedicated inline controller and microphone for clear calls, while the FJX uses touch controls and a built-in mic for voice assistants and calls.
Neither product lists active noise cancellation (ANC). The ZXQ relies on physical in-ear isolation to block sound, while the FJX relies on an open-ear design that lets sound in rather than blocking it.
While the ZXQ is lightweight, the FJX might be a better fit for active children due to its secure, non-slip design and ability to keep them aware of their surroundings, though parental supervision is always recommended for any headphone use.
