Blind/Visually Impaired
Therapists will connect with student case managers via email/zoom to ensure that the educational materials and curriculum is accessible to students who are blind/visually impaired.
Should the need arise, B/VI therapists are prepared to connect with students and families via email or flipgrid.
The following are ways in which B/VI students this could Continue to study the Expanded Core Curriculum.
Students could learn daily living skills through Washington School for the Blind online videos. https://www.wssb.wa.gov/welcome-to-wssb/services/video-clips/
Students could learn self determination skills and advocacy skills through the following sites: Billionaire Videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYqOP98j1cPqLzN2-AAgsHQ/videos Assign a video and response. Students could learn technology and typing skills through accessibyte which is now available for students who are blind/visually impaired.
Students could learn about recreation and leisure skills through virtual field trips. https://www.discoveryeducation.com/community/virtual-field-trips/
The California State University and Perkins School for the Blind, Paths to Literacy, will offer free lessons for students with a variety of abilities. The classes will begin on March 23.
ObjectiveED Free Distance Learning is providing access to digital curriculum to schools and teachers to use with their students with vision impairments through the end of the 2019/2020 school year. www.objectiveEd.com/distance

Physical Therapy
B-3 Population:
Teachers/case managers to communicate with parents and find their preferred method for distance learning (phone call, Facetime, ZOOM).
Schedule visits with teachers/providers.
Make recommendations based on comments from parents/video footage.
Will follow IFSP service frequencies.
Provide links to applicable handouts, websites and/or videos.
Document sessions on shared “Home Visit Sheets for Distance Learning” folder by case manager/student.
School Population (7 districts)
Communicate with district teachers/case managers to find out the district/families preferred method for distance learning. (SeeSaw, Flex Learning Plans)
Find the best method to collaborate with district teachers/case managers plans.
Will provide individualized activities, resources, links, feedback etc. based on students/families needs.
Will follow IEP service times.
General work applicable across settings:
Developing a google site with resources to direct families to for information on various topics.
Acquiring subscription to an online Home Exercise Program (HEP2go) where we can create individualized home exercise routines that students/families can access online, on their phone or via paper.
PT/OT shared drive set-up to collaborate with all therapists with links to resources/videos.

Occupational Therapy
OTs have created and will continue to update a parent website with activities for all areas of OT applicable to their child
OTs have compiled and will implement to the best of their abilities therapies from resources they collected
In collaboration with Instructors, OTs wil connect with parents and families as needed through the same channels as individual school districts.
In accordance with the IEP, Students with direct services in their IEPs will receive the offer to fulfill those minutes virtually via zoom meetings.
OTs will provide packages for students who do not have access to internet services from home or do not possess the functional skills to benefit from online instruction.
OTs are prepared to attend IEP meetings remotely per district protocols.
Whenever possible, OTs will conduct evaluations remotely via zoom.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Therapists have reached out to families in an effort to ascertain the ability to connect via phone, Face Time, Google Hangouts, Zoom or email. Barriers will be addressed.
Therapists will meet with students (virtually) as per the IEP, as they will not be able to do so in person for the foreseeable future.
Therapists are offering tips and resources to parents in an effort to continue therapies (language development, speech and literacy skills).
Therapists have made themselves available during the work day (methods noted above).

Physically Impaired
The P/I therapist will continue to consult on evaluations and IEPs and is open to phone calls, emails and virtual meetings as needed by the member districts.
The P/I therapist will create and publish a resource guide for educators addressing:
Lists of common medical conditions
The medical implications of specific medical conditions
Accommodations for specific medical conditions
The P/I therapist will continue to develop and report back on the current evaluations in process.
