This training course was designed around the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competencies, and to support coaches to meet the required 125 hours of Coaching Education needed for a PCC credential.
After registration we'll send you a welcome email, course notebook, resources to explore as pre-work and an invoice.
Wisdom from the Trenches – This group will consist of other experienced coaches like you. They will help you generate new ideas to try and cheer you on as you step out of your comfort zone.
Support and Accountability – The regularity of the group is designed to provide you peer perspective, practical ideas, support, and accountability as you implement in your context between sessions.
Guidance from an Experienced Guide – Kim, your facilitator, is an MCC coach, CSA-trained supervisor and ICF assessor. She can help introduce you to high-level coaching and ways to better embody the ICF competencies.
Professional Development and Growth of Your Coaching Practice – This course is designed to catalyze personal and professional development. Your co-participants will inspire you to courageously seek out new opportunities for growth, learn from your mistakes and take your coaching (and coaching practice) to the next level.
Easy, Cost-Effective ICF PCC Credential - upon completion of all the course requirements and a successful assessment, you will receive an ICF Level 2 Certificate which will enable to you apply for the ICF PCC credential (once you have 500 client hours) at the lowest price and with the least amount of hassle.
This interactive group provides experienced coaches the opportunity to experiment with new postures and techniques, observe others coach, deepen their understanding of the ICF Core Competencies, and receive feedback and tips on how to improve their coaching. The course provides and variety of interactive activities (e.g., demonstrations, improv games, drawing, movement) to generate conversation and practice around each of the 8 Core Competencies.
Focus: 3 coaching postures and 8 ICF Competencies, and regular time for observed coaching practice.
Plenary 1 - Higher Level Coaching: Catalyst, Facilitator and Partner; Foundations of Coaching at Higher Level: Coach the Person Not the Problem; Ethics in the Gray Spaces
Plenary 2 - Co-Creating the Relationship: Including Psychological Safety, Transactional Analysis, and ABC (Always Be Contracting)
Plenary 3 - Communicating Effectively: Holistic Attunement, Self-as-Instrument, Making Observations to Catalyze Awareness, Presence-Based Coaching
Plenary 4 - Facilitating Growth and Development Through Coaching: Within the Session and Through our Ongoing Relationship, More than Action Steps
Plenary 5 – Consolidating Higher Level Coaching, Application in Team and Group Coaching
To accommodate a variety of time zones, the required coaching education will occur in five (5) sessions of 6 hours. Limited make-up ability is available for those who miss an in-person experience, as the ICF requires the face-face time with the ICF facilitator.
Plan to be fully present (screen and mic on) as our sessions will have a variety of participatory activities, discussions, games and time to practice coaching in pairs. You can only make-up one session (or up to 5 hours) and still get full credit toward the Level 2 certificate so plan your schedule to be at all the group sessions unless an extenuating circumstance comes up.
For those who need/want mentor coaching, we'll have 2 x 3.5 hour sessions after the Coaching Education is completed. These session will provide ongoing support as coaches implement their learning in their contexts.
The optional 1:1 sessions with a mentor coaching can be scheduled during the course or afterwards. And, it is fine to wait a few months until you have more time to implement your learning with those you coach.
The Level 2 assessment will entail the submission of one (1) recording and transcript not to exceed 60 min. Instructions will be provided. The assessment can be submitted any time during or after the course. Those who have engaged in prior mentor coaching or with another qualified mentor coach have the option to skip the offered mentor coaching (or do a customized arrangement) and still submit a recording to Zovak Coaching as part of the Level 2 certificate (presuming, of course, that they complete all the training hours).
Those who choose not to complete the assessment can do so at a later time (with an additional small fee for an extra invoice) or can use the coaching education with the portfolio pathway. (Please note: the application for the portfolio pathway is $375 more than the Level 2 pathway and has an 18 week turn-around, as opposed to 4 weeks with the Level 2 pathway.)
Note: Group sessions and assessment are only available in English, so comfort with listening and speaking in English is essential. Triad practice, and some mentor coaching, can be coordinated in other languages if other participants have other language preferences too. For an assessment in another language, participants can use the ICF portfolio pathway.
