Today when I try to join a meeting via Zoom v5.10.1 (I could do before), a dialog window is appeared with the text "Update required. Your app version needs to be 5.11.1 or higher to join this meeting. Please update to continue".

When I click the button "Update", the next window "Update Available!" is appeared with log of versions up to the latest version 5.11.4. When I click "Update", the downloading process is started and completed and then the button "Install" is appeared. When I click the "Install", both windows of Zoom are disappeared for a while.

It's interesting that I can successfully join a personal room of another person, but can't join the meeting I mentioned above. So may this requirement of minimum 5.11.1 version be a setting of the meeting I can't join to?

I use Fedora 36 and every time I start zoom it is just black (see image). It seems like just the visual display is broken. I can join meetings, but can not see anything since the whole interface is just black. (I obtained, the knowledge that joining meetings is possible by going into the same meeting with another device.)

As I understand it there are some issues with using zoom and the nouveau drivers. Also, if your nvidia card is not able to use the drivers 495 and higher you cannot use wayland with nvidia. That GTX 780 card appears to use the 470 driver which means it may be able to use the later drivers as well and probably no issues with wayland. Current drivers are 515.76 from rpmfusion.

After our initial message sent on August 18 (below), Zoom released another updated version of the Mac Zoom computer application to address a security vulnerability. In response to the security vulnerability, we are updating the minimum client version for the Mac Zoom computer application to 5.11.9. In addition to this change and in response to feedback, we are reducing the minimum client version for the Windows Zoom computer application to 5.11.3.

BTW - currently we are using Patch Policy for 3rd party that is scheduled to run every 1 day for 1 day

We exclude ZOOM and ZOOM outlook plug-in because of that issue. -if the zoom plug-in is not updated and the zoom is, then the plug-in is not working properly, and we cannot approve this.

The Zoom software client version due for release this week will be the first that is not available for installation on 32-bit iOS devices. Among the devices affected are the iPhone 5/5C and below, iPad (4th generation and below) and iPad mini. The highest version supported on these devices will continue to be 5.11.3.

It will still be possible to launch and join meetings with these older devices for the time being, but when eventually version 5.11.3 ages out of support, their participation in Zoom meetings will no longer be possible. It is not currently known when that date might arrive.

a quick help. I just installed Ubuntu Studio 22.04 and for some strange reason Zoom client crashes on start. Not sure if it's just me or if this is a common problem across. I installed zoom client downloaded from their official website ( _4meeting). After installing when I open it just crashes. And no log files I could search to see what the issue could be.

Latest version of zoom (5.10.6 (3192)) has this problem fixed (for my machine Alienware M15 R4), but some coworkers have reported that "virtual backgrounds" option has been broken on this one. Either clicking on a zoom link, running zoom, or running zoom --disable-gpu-sandbox would briefly open a window, but it would immediately close. Uninstalling and reinstalling zoom had no effect. Running su zoom gave me an error message involving PulseAudio being missing, so on a hunch, I rebooted. Running zoom then opened the crash reporter window, after which I was able to use zoom normally.

Apparently, the 5.11.3 (Zoom) upgrade in ~ August, 2022, caused the microphone problem. The solution was to go into the hidden Mac "Library" folders and delete the "zoom" folder. Then, delete the Zoom app. Then, reinstall Zoom.

Recently been having random Thin clients shutting down while being in active sessions. This is not happening to everyone. We have one user just doing spreadsheets and then citrix shows a countdown and then shuts the thin client down. another issue was a person was in a zoom call and it did the same thing. e24fc04721
