Grants and Scholarships

Each year, Zonta Club of Olympia grants funds to non-profit organizations in our area whose programs improve women's legal rights, health, education, economic status, end violence against women, and/or enhance women's self-esteem.

Typical grants range from $500 to $3000; and selected organizations are eligible for two years funding.

We congratulate the following non-profit organizations who are grant recipients for 2017-2018 funding years:

Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County; Catholic Housing Services/Tumwater Apartments; Community Action Council/Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center; Family Education and Support Services; Family Support Center; GRuB; P.O.W.E.R.; SafePlace; Senior Services for South Sound; South Sound Parent to Parent; South Sound Reading Foundation; WSU Extension Thurston County/4-H Youth Development; YWCA Olympia.

We look forward to partnering with them throughout the coming two years!

Zonta Club of Olympia is dedicated to annually funding scholarship and award programs that support women (age 16 and above), who are committed to furthering their education in order to reach their career, business, entrepreneurial goals and aspirations. Our club has provided the Doris Drees Endowment Scholarship for many years, helping to remove barriers to education for women who are often returning to college after a period of absence. The Young Women in Public Affairs Award encourages students just entering college/university to pursue public policy making, government and volunteer organization positions. The Jane M Klausman Woman in Business Scholarship is provided to women who are pursuing degrees in business related fields.

Zonta Club of Olympia is pleased to invite you to participate in the 2018 Zonta International Jane M. Klausman (JMK) Women in Business Scholarship Program. Women who are pursuing degrees in business leading to a business management career and demonstrating outstanding potential in the field are eligible.

Please review the application link for complete information about this exciting program…including eligibility requirements for women of any age who are enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program to the final year of a Master’s program, application process, and how funds may be used.

The club’s winning applicant will receive $1000 for expenses that support achieving a degree in a business-related field; and her application will be submitted to the next level of Zonta for a possible $2000 scholarship if selected. The winner at the district level will move on to Zonta International for a potential $8000 scholarship later this fall.
