For fishing, the ZOHAN EM037 is my top choice among zohan noise cancelling headphones because its built-in Bluetooth and long battery life let you listen to music or podcasts while actively protecting your hearing from engine roar. If you need a budget-friendly option specifically for children attending loud outdoor events, the ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection offers certified safety without the tech features of an adult model.
• ZOHAN EM037 — best for active adults who need audio connectivity; pick this if you require 40 hours of playtime and Bluetooth streaming alongside high-decibel protection.
• ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection (Black) — best for families needing dual units for home and school; pick this if you want reinforced durability to withstand rough play and sensory needs.
• ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection (Blue/Green) — best for kids with sensory sensitivities; pick this if you prefer colorful options that still provide certified noise reduction for concerts or monster trucks.
• ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection (3-Pack) — best for large groups or multiple children; pick this if you need immediate backup pairs and storage bags for frequent use in varying environments.
When you are out on the water or standing by a noisy machine, silence isn't always the goal; sometimes you just want to drown out the dangerous frequencies while keeping the bass line playing. The ZOHAN EM037 bridges that gap perfectly. It is not just a pair of ear muffs; it is a full listening station designed for the modern worker or hobbyist. The design features a durable ABS shell that feels solid against the elements, paired with gel ear pads that promise a seal tight enough to block wind and machinery but soft enough to wear for hours without causing pressure points.
The standout feature here is clearly the power. That is not a number I would expect from most hearing protectors, which often run out after a single shift. For a fishing trip where you might be away from power sources for days, or a weekend of snowblowing, this longevity means you won't be fumbling with cables or dead batteries when the fish stop biting or the engine starts sputtering. The Bluetooth capability allows you to stream directly from your phone, so you can stay connected with crew members via calls or just enjoy your favorite playlist without ever taking the protection off.
However, there is a trade-off to consider regarding the bulk. Because this unit houses a large battery and electronic components, it is noticeably heavier than standard passive earmuffs. The "Standard" fit type suggests it works for most head sizes, but the gel pads and the electronics create a profile that is more substantial than the sleek, minimalist look of basic foam cups. If you are someone who forgets you are wearing something heavy, this might take some getting used to during those first few minutes.

I recommend this model specifically for anyone using zohan noise cancelling headphones for fishing or yard work who values entertainment as much as safety. The 30dB SNR rating ensures you are legally compliant and physically protected from damaging decibels, but the real value lies in the ability to turn a grueling day of labor into a relaxing one with music. You aren't just blocking sound; you are curating your auditory environment while staying safe.
For parents, the primary concern is rarely about whether the child can hear their own thoughts; it is about whether they can survive a loud event without being traumatized or damaged. This specific iteration of the ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection is built with the understanding that children are unpredictable. They drop things, they throw them, and they do not treat equipment with the gentle care of an adult. The construction uses high-quality ABS plastic that is ultra-lightweight, meaning it won't drag down a small frame, yet it is reinforced to prevent the ear cushions from falling off—a common failure point in cheaper brands.
The design philosophy here centers on comfort and sensory regulation. The ear pads are described as pillowy and made from thick, sound-isolating foam. For a child with autism or ADHD, the world can be incredibly overwhelming, filled with sounds that trigger anxiety or meltdowns. These earmuffs act as a quiet sanctuary. The metal-free construction is crucial here; there are no cold metal bands squeezing the temples, which eliminates the "head-squeeze" feeling that many kids hate. Instead, the force is distributed evenly across the head, allowing a child to sit through a fireworks display or a monster truck rally without constant complaints about pain.
One of the smartest aspects of this product is the packaging strategy. Coming in a two-pack, it solves the logistical nightmare of lost items. One pair stays in the school backpack for classroom focus, ensuring the child can concentrate amidst hallway noise, while the other stays at home for family outings. This redundancy is a lifesaver for parents who know how quickly gear gets left behind or broken. The warranty backing, offering a replacement if they break within a year, speaks to the manufacturer's confidence in this durability upgrade.
The main trade-off with this model is the lack of active electronics. There is no Bluetooth, no volume control, and no way to listen to music through these specific cups. They rely entirely on passive noise isolation. While this keeps the device simple, lightweight, and focused solely on safety, it means you cannot use them for entertainment purposes. You must accept that they are purely protective tools. If your child wants to listen to a podcast while at the fair, these won't help, but if the goal is simply to make the noise bearable, they excel at it.
This version of the ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection brings the same core engineering as the black model but introduces a vibrant color scheme that appeals directly to a younger demographic. The blue and green combination is not just aesthetic; it serves a psychological purpose. Children are more likely to put on and keep on hearing protection if it looks like a toy or a fun accessory rather than medical equipment. The bright hues exude energy and can actually reduce resistance before an event even begins.
Like its sibling, this model features the upgraded durability of the 2026 release cycle. The bonding process for the ear cushions has been strengthened to withstand the rough handling typical of kids aged 2 to 12 years old. This is a significant improvement over older generations where padding would start peeling after a few months. The adjustable headband fits a wide range of head sizes, making it viable for both toddlers and pre-teens, which extends the useful life of the product through siblings or growth spurts.
The sensory-friendly aspect remains the priority. The ultra-soft foam creates a quiet zone that helps children regulate their emotions in chaotic environments. Whether it is a crowded concert or a busy airport, the physical barrier of the thick earpads dampens the sensory overload that leads to tantrums. The certification standards ensure that the protection is genuine and meets rigorous safety requirements, giving parents peace of mind that the product is doing what it claims.
However, the reliance on passive isolation means that very low-frequency rumbles might still be felt, though not heard as sharply. Also, because these are designed for children, the fit on an adult head, even with the adjustment, might be too loose to provide an effective seal. If you are an adult looking for a cheap backup pair, this is not the right tool. It is strictly for the 2-to-12 age bracket, and attempting to use it for anything beyond that range will result in poor noise reduction.
ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection
Sometimes you have more than one child, or perhaps you manage a group activity where gear needs to be swapped out constantly. The three-pack version of the ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection addresses this specific logistical challenge. By providing three distinct units, you eliminate the risk of having only one pair available when you need it most. The inclusion of two yellow drawstring storage bags is a thoughtful touch that encourages organization. Instead of throwing the earmuffs in a gym bag where they get crushed, they can be tucked away neatly, ready for the next outing.
The NRR of 22dB provides a solid level of protection for general events. While slightly lower than the 25dB models, it is still sufficient for most recreational activities like watching sports or attending air shows. The key advantage here is the variety of colors included in the pack—blue, green, and yellow—which makes it easy to distinguish whose gear belongs to whom in a group setting. This reduces the friction of sharing and arguing over ownership, a common issue in households with multiple kids.
The build quality maintains the brand's commitment to metal-free, lightweight materials. The thicker interior foam ensures that even with three pairs in circulation, every single unit offers the same plush comfort. The adjustable design claims to fit 99% of head sizes, including smaller adults, which adds versatility to the set. If you have a teenager with smaller ears or a parent who occasionally needs to try on the gear, the flexibility is there.
The trade-off in this bundle is the individual noise reduction spec. At 22dB, it is marginally less powerful than the 25dB versions, which might matter if you are in extremely high-decibel zones like a jet engine test or a rock concert front row. However, for the vast majority of family events, this difference is negligible compared to the benefit of having extra pairs and storage solutions. It is the ultimate "buy once, never worry again" solution for families.
We compared published specs and features across all available ZOHAN models to determine which design best suits different user needs. The ranking reflects our independent editorial opinion based on battery life, durability upgrades, and intended use cases, with no brand paying for placement.
The adjustable bands on the kids' packs are designed to fit most head sizes, including some adults, but the ear cup size may be too small to create a proper seal for larger adult heads, reducing effectiveness.
No, the ZOHAN Kids Ear Protection models rely on passive noise cancellation and do not have Bluetooth or audio drivers, meaning you cannot listen to music through them.
