If you want a secure, all-day listening experience for sleeping that blocks out ambient noise with an over-ear design, choose ZIHNIC Headphones Over-Ear; if you need rugged, sweat-proof earbuds designed to stay put during intense running or gym sessions, choose HAOYUYAN Sports.
• ZIHNIC Headphones Over-Ear: Offers 15 hours of battery life and soft earmuffs for prolonged comfort, but its larger form factor makes it less ideal for side-sleepers compared to low-profile buds.
• HAOYUYAN Sports: Delivers an impressive 80 hours total playtime with the case and features IPX7 waterproofing for heavy workouts, though the open-ear hook design offers less passive isolation than over-ear cups.
• The Verdict: Choose ZIHNIC if your priority is immersive, isolated listening for long periods like sleep or travel; choose HAOYUYAN if your priority is durability, sweat resistance, and staying secure during high-movement activities.
The ZIHNIC WH-816 is built around the concept of extended, comfortable wear without constant recharging. With a weight of 0.3 kg and soft earmuffs, this headset is engineered specifically for users who plan to keep audio on for long stretches. The over-ear design creates a physical barrier around the ear, providing sound isolation that can be crucial for anyone trying to block out household noise or street sounds while trying to drift off. If you are looking for on ear headphones for sleeping that actually cover the ears rather than sitting inside them, this is the type of form factor you need. The ability to switch between wired and wireless connectivity via a 3.5 mm jack gives you flexibility; you aren't locked into one mode, which is helpful if you are charging the device or connecting to a non-Bluetooth source like a TV or older PC.
This product is best suited for people who prioritize battery endurance and isolation over portability. The 15-hour average battery life means you can use these from morning until night without hunting for a charger, a significant advantage over many smaller true wireless options that die after a few hours. The Bluetooth 5.0 technology ensures a stable connection up to 10 meters, allowing you to move around your room or even step outside without losing the signal. The inclusion of a carrying case in black suggests a focus on protection and storage, making it a practical choice for commuters or students who need to toss their headphones into a bag without worrying about damage. However, the plastic enclosure and the sheer size of the over-ear cups mean they take up more space and may not fit well under a standard pillow.

You should skip this option if you have very small heads or if you are strictly looking for something that fits entirely within the ear canal for maximum stealth while lying down. While the "soft earmuffs" promise comfort, the bulk of the headband and ear cups is a trade-off you must accept for the sake of sound isolation and longer battery life. Additionally, the lack of a dedicated waterproof rating (unlike the IPX5 mentioned in some translations or the IPX7 on competitors) means these are not designed to handle heavy rain or intense sweat, limiting their utility for high-intensity sports. They are a stationary listening tool, perfect for a desk, a bed, or a quiet room, but not for a sweaty treadmill run.
The HAOYUYAN BX17 earbuds are a different beast entirely, crafted for the person who refuses to let a workout stop their playlist. These are true wireless earbuds featuring flexible ear hooks and three sizes of silicone tips (S, M, L), ensuring a personalized and secure fit that won't fall out during a sprint or a HIIT session. The standout feature here is the IPX7 waterproof rating, which protects against sweat, rain, and even accidental submersion in water for 30 minutes. This level of durability makes them the ultimate companion for outdoor adventures where weather and perspiration are guaranteed factors. If you are searching for the best usb c charging earphones for sleeping that can also double as your daily gym gear, these offer a dual-purpose solution that balances performance with resilience.
Battery life is another massive selling point for this model. While the earbuds themselves provide 15 hours of continuous playtime, the portable charging case extends this to a staggering 80 hours total. This means you could go weeks without plugging in the case, provided you manage your usage. The integrated LED power display on the case is a thoughtful touch, showing precise battery levels so you never get caught with dead earbuds mid-workout. The use of Bluetooth 5.3 expands the range to 15 meters (approx. 33 feet), offering better stability than the previous generation and ensuring your music doesn't stutter when you move away from your phone. The 14.3mm dynamic drivers deliver powerful bass and balanced mids, which helps mask environmental noise through active tuning and passive isolation from the ear tips.
These earbuds are ideal for athletes, runners, and anyone with an active lifestyle who needs gear that can handle the elements. The tactile buttons allow for volume control, track skipping, and call management without needing to touch your phone, which is essential when your hands are sweaty or covered by gloves. However, because these are in-ear buds with hooks, they do not offer the same level of deep, enveloping isolation as the ZIHNIC over-ear model. If your goal is complete silence for deep sleep, the open nature of the ear hook design might let in more background noise. They are also slightly more complex to store due to the small case, though the auto-pairing feature upon opening the lid makes setup instantaneous.
• Best for Sleeping Isolation → ZIHNIC Headphones Over-Ear: The over-ear cup design physically blocks more external sound than the in-ear tips of the sports earbuds, creating a quieter environment for rest.
• Best for Battery Longevity (Total) → HAOYUYAN Sports: With 80 hours of total playtime including the case, these last significantly longer in a week of use than the single-charge capacity of the ZIHNIC.
• Best for Water Resistance → HAOYUYAN Sports: The IPX7 rating allows for submersion and heavy sweat, whereas the ZIHNIC lacks a specific waterproof rating suitable for intense aquatic or sweat-heavy environments.
• Best for Comfort During Prolonged Wear → ZIHNIC Headphones Over-Ear: The 0.3 kg weight and soft earmuffs are designed specifically for "prolonged wearing," reducing fatigue during long listening sessions.
• Best for Active Movement → HAOYUYAN Sports: The flexible ear hooks and secure silicone tips ensure the device stays in place during running and jumping, unlike the heavier over-ear style.
• Best Connectivity Range → HAOYUYAN Sports: Bluetooth 5.3 provides a 15-meter range, offering greater freedom of movement compared to the 10-meter limit of the ZIHNIC.
• Best Charging Speed → HAOYUYAN Sports: The 1.5-hour charge time for the case is faster than the 2-hour charge time required for the ZIHNIC headphones.
• Best Value for Multi-Use → HAOYUYAN Sports: If you need one pair of headphones that works for both the gym and casual listening, the versatility of the earbuds wins out.
In my opinion, if I had to pick just one pair of headphones to own for a mix of sleep and daily activity, I would choose the HAOYUYAN Sports. While the ZIHNIC is excellent for pure isolation, the versatility of the HAOYUYAN cannot be overstated. The ability to use them for sleep, knowing they are waterproof and have 80 hours of battery life, makes them a superior all-around investment. The ear hooks provide a secure fit that doesn't require the bulk of over-ear cups, and the USB-C fast charging keeps me ready for any situation. For those specifically seeking best true wireless earbuds for sleeping, the HAOYUYAN strikes the right balance between comfort, durability, and battery endurance, making it the clear winner for a modern, active lifestyle.
The ZIHNIC over-ear headphones are likely too bulky for side sleeping and may press uncomfortably against a pillow, whereas the HAOYUYAN earbuds sit flush in the ear and are generally more suitable for side sleepers.
Yes, the HAOYUYAN BX17 features an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning they can withstand sweat, heavy rain, and even brief submersion in water without damage.
While both offer 15 hours of continuous playback per charge, the HAOYUYAN includes a charging case that extends total playtime to 80 hours, far exceeding the single-charge capability of the ZIHNIC.
Yes, the ZIHNIC model supports a wired connection via a 3.5 mm jack, allowing you to use them with devices that do not support Bluetooth or when the battery is depleted.
