Hello, and welcome! I'm Zhuo Chen, a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My research interests lie in development economics, public economics, and environmental economics, with a particular focus on the economic consequences of natural disasters and how households and governments respond and recover in their aftermath.

My job market paper studies how federal disaster assistance affects local government finances after natural disasters in the United States.
