I'm Zhiren Hu, a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Applied Economics at Cornell University. I'm affiliated to Cornell Institute for China Economic Research (CICER), Stanford Economics for Sustainability and Energy Transition Lab (eSET), and Stanford Center on China's Economy and Institutions (SCCEI). My research agenda focuses on two topics: (1) economics of ecosystem services; (2) energy transition.

I'm visiting Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability in 2026-2028 academic years.
