Project "Alexa Spy On Us": Developed multi-threading real-time GUI to receive, process and visualize data from the microphone array using Qt and conducted experiments to validate algorithms implemented with Python.
Gas & Smoke Detector: Developed gas & smoke detectors based on Atmega and STM microcontrollers, and coded the drivers for Dot Matrix OLED display(SH1106) and LED display(TM1620).
GUI: Designed a GUI for an alarm system based on Python Tkinter to record, analyze and display data from gas & smoke detectors connected via RS485 using protocols such as Modbus.
HANA Database: Learned to optimize HANA database including table distribution and table partition.
Web application: tilized SAPUI5 and XS Engine to develop web applications that can fetch and visualize data from HANA database.
Git Server: Assisted the development of the team's Git server and web applications to display the differences between various versions of software source code.
Goal: Enhance Alexa functionality to map rooms and detect peoples movements using the speaker and the microphone array on Amazon Echo Plus with FMCW and phase matching algorithm.
Design: Process multi-channel sound data using Beam-forming, FM-CW, coe cient of determination to detect and interpret echos of the sound.
Functionality: Used Systemverilog to implement a functional processor, that has some advanced features including Branch Prediction & Recovery, Prefetching, and Age logic for Load-Store Queue.
Simulation: Programmed testbenches to unit test and debug each module and the entire pipeline.
Optimization: Programmed Bash scripts, Make le and TCL scripts to compile, synthesize and validate the Systemverilog code. Analyzed and optimized the performance of the processor by nding and shortening the longest critical path with the generated report.
Research: Researched Bluetooth Mesh and their compatibility and implementation with various types of hardware.
Prototype: Prototyped the Sensor Node on a Arduino Dev board and developed a driver for IR sensors(AK9753).
Simulation: Collected data from sensors and developed Python scripts to provide visuals, and validate ltering and classification algorithms.
Design: Collaborated on the PCB design of sensor nodes. Programmed for the chip(NRF52832) to collect data and encode all information in advertising data. Worked with team members to improve the reliability of mesh nodes. Contributed to the the design of the gateway node. Set up a web server and designed Restful APIs using Python flask on a Raspberry Pi. Built a web application using Bootstrap and JQuery for Demo.
Report and Presentation: Wrote the proposal, milestone reports and the nal report for the project. Designed the poster and presented the project in a Design EXPO of University of Michigan.
Recognition: Developed the recognition algorithm to output coordinates of animal cells in images.
Tracking: Developed tracking algorithm based on Alpha-Beta Filter to generate tracks of cells' movement.
Report and Presentation: Wrote the report, designed the poster, and presented the project to Senior Design Committee of ECE department in Drexel University.
