Zhengang "Michael" Xu is a Healthcare Economics Analyst at UnitedHealthcare, where he applies advanced econometric methods and data analysis to inform healthcare policy and drive initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes.
Before joining UnitedHealthcare, Dr. Xu was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Simpson College. During his tenure, he taught courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, international trade, and statistics, fostering a deep understanding of economic theory and its applications among his students.
Dr. Xu holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oklahoma, an M.A. in Economics and Statistics from Lehigh University, and a B.A. in Economics and Business from the University of Colorado Denver.
His academic and professional interests include healthcare economics, applied econometrics, development economics, and political economy. His research examines the socioeconomic effects of policy changes, including political participation, consumer behavior, and identity dynamics.
