Dr Zhang finished his PhD study in Marseille, France. He then received a EMBO Long-Term Fellowship to work on c-di-AMP in Staphylococcus aureus at Imperial College London. After that, he moved to University of Copenhagen, Denmark to work on ppGpp with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. He is now an Associate professor at University of Copenhagen.
