Ups.com (including CampusShip) is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" labels. Standard desktop laser and inkjet printers are also supported.

Worldship is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" and 4" x 8" labels, as well as standard desktop laser and inkjet printers. Follow the documentation that comes with the printer to install the correct driver and for setup instructions.

I have been using the attached vi for several years without any problems on windows XP computers but it no longer functions on the windows 7 computers that I have tried to use it on with 'printer not found' message.

The printer is ZTC LP2844-Z 200dpi which is set up in windows as default printer, so in the vi the printer is not specified. This arrangement worked for XP but although in Windows 7 I can print out using the printer 'test' function it does not work in Labview.

I have read other posts and solutions using the Zebra progarm code but the application I am using just uses text files hence use of report generator so would have thought it would function as a basic printer?

If you know what commands the printer expects from your computer, how it is supposed to be connected and what communication protocol it uses then you will be able to generate those commands from LabVIEW and send them to your printer.

Basically what he explained was to create a label of the size and text required using Zebra Designer which is a free download. Then save this as a file using the PRN extension in Designer. This gives a text file and the various ZPL commands to communicate with printer and format its output. By using dummy data where I wanted results printed inspection of the code showed where to 'split it up' and then using text boxes and concaternate strings function rebuilt the code so it coul dbe exectuted in Labview. I have attache an image of code that I am using, looks messy but it works.

The next step was to use NI Visa Driver Wizard to identify the zebra USB printer which was already plugged in with its Zebra windows drivers installed. Using the wizard you get the product ID and vendor ID for the printer and can let then the wizard create a driver for you.

Hey @vvora @k.ober - did some more troubleshooting this morning and got it working! The issue was how I originally set up the printer / driver. This article from Zebra really helped - seems the set up needs to be done manually.

I'm using a service on multiple computers that is essentially a socket and TcpListener that listens on a port for a message. This message is a byte array of ZPL code. The service then sends this array to a USB connected Zebra GK420d printer and then prints it. The byte array is sent from another application where users select different label layouts for different products. The other computers do not have admin privileges but i do not think this is the cause.

The issue I'm having is the printers flash green once, but it does not print. I know for a fact the service works fine, as when I view a CMD window, I see the ZPL message and the printer it is trying to send to. This suggests the service works and the printer gets the message, hence the flash.

I've tried a variety of drivers, updating the drivers, different USB ports, updating the .Net on the computers, deleting the printers and reinstalling them etc but nothing seems to be fixing the issue. They print test pages fine so i'm not sure what the issue is.

I will admit I have never had experience setting up a printer, as well as getting a barcode to print form Ignition. Is there any articles that I should look into? Or is this still possible with the script I have with rework?

I also added in a loop as requested from support, which does seem to find the printer name as it loops, but once I get to the if foundService it doesn't seem to print. I am using the script console at the moment to be able to view the print statements.

What we have:

Shipping-1 workstation has a local Zebra printer. The printer is shared. This Zebra is used by Shipping-1 and by Shipping-2 workstations to print UPS labels. Epicor Manifest and InsiteShipV3 come into play here somehow, I believe.

Cloud-based printing is not always as secure or streamlined as it should be. SendFileToPrinter API fixes that. SendFileToPrinter is a cloud-based REST API for Zebra Print DNA printers that enables simple and secure cloud-based printing via Zebra Data Services cloud. It also allows you to easily configure printer-to-cloud connectivity and fix configuration issues from anywhere with Zebra's Printer Setup Utilities.

This API offfers a secure connection from your printer to Zebra Data Services cloud through SSL/TLS, allowing you to safely print, send any content in a file format and configure settings to any Print DNA printer from any location.

What is the problem? Please be detailed.

I have a modified ODK zebra printer driver in android studio. When I run and deploy the app directly to my tablet, it installs and prints the barcode labels correctly. This is not the case when I build the apk through Build menu >> Build Bundle/APKS >> APKs or through Build menu >> Generate signed Bundle/ APK >> APK.

I try to install the apk generated and get the error 'Application not available'.

ODK collect is updated frequently and it now has a nice user friendly interface.

Unfortunately other powerful ODK tools eg. ODK zebra printer and ODK sensors have been neglected. Currently these 2 tools are no longer in google play store. I believe I and other people using these tools would be very grateful if they are updated as often as ODK collect and made available.

Thanks in advance

@Margaret_Wambui which printer are you using? Can it be set up as a regular printer in Android? We are planning to add printing directly from ODK Collect in the following release which will come out in December or January. This will make it possible to send any HTML including embedded QR codes to a connected printer.

I'm sorry the removal of the Zebra printer driver app from the Play Store has been disruptive to you. It has been hard to maintain and use secondary apps like that. We're hopeful that bringing printing directly into Collect will make it approachable to more users.

The Zebra ZD410, ZD411, ZD420, and Zebra ZD421 label printers allow you to print labels for your items. They connect directly to your computer with a USB cable. If the Zebra ZD410 or ZD411 model you have supports Bluetooth, you can also pair it to your iPad.

To set up your printer, you first need to install Lightspeed Hub on your computer. Lightspeed Hub is a desktop application that helps you to set up your hardware in fewer steps and guides you through the process. It also connects directly to Lightspeed Retail POS, bringing you a reliable connection to your hardware throughout your business day.

For the Zebra ZD420 and ZD421, you need to reset your printer to its factory settings before you connect it to Hub. If you have a Zebra ZD410 or ZD411, you can skip this step and connect your printer to Hub right away.

For your printer to recognize the size of your labels, you need to calibrate it. This will make sure that your labels will print correctly. To do so, select More actions > Calibrate label printer. Your printer will measure and feed a few blank labels, indicating that it's now calibrated.

Now that you've connected your printer, print a queue of three labels to test if your printer is working as it should. We recommend printing three labels before printing a larger queue of labels to avoid wasting labels should they print misaligned. Alternatively, you can simply select Print test label. This will print a test label with the Lightspeed flame.

So I printed out the label from Etsy with FedEx. Today I was going to ship just a standard USPS shipment and my settings somehow changed and my print overview is not the same and I can not print a label from Zebra printer, I mean I can print one and it shows the label but it is sideways and real small. Not good enough to be read at the USPS office for scanning. I have tried all the settings but it was always set 4" x 6" for label size.

You can reset the printer. Switch it on then HOLD DOWN the button next to the green "on" light. It will flash once, then twice, then 3 times, then 4 times, then 5 times, then 6 times, then 7 times. When it has flashed 7 times release your finger and your printer will be reset. It may churn out some printed labels with lines on as it resets. Works every time!

When I click print and set to Zebra as the printer to print the label its only on half the page and sideways on it. I tried playing with the paper size and rotation but nothing rotates it to fit on the page vertically.

Hello! I hope you were able to get it fixed, make sure you have the printing scale set to default or 100% if it is just printing the label tiny. If it is only printing a part of the label then it may be your label printer?

I've been fighting with this printer for a decent while, but I'm at wits end at this point. This user is trying to print shipping labels from UPS Worldship using a Zebra (GX420d) that is shared through another user in the same office space.

Disregard this topic. When I set the margins for the printer they apparently did not save and I had not gone back to check them again since I thought it was done in the first place. Prints are fine now. ff782bc1db
