Portrait of Zaw in front of the temple in Bagan where he can usually be found
Zaw is a sand painter based in Bagan, the historical area in Myanmar with more than 3,000 temples dating back to the 11th century for some of them. Born in 1981, Zaw has been drawing and painting since the age of 13, following his father's footsteps.
Watch the video below to hear directly from Zaw on how he produces his paintings, which take a few days each to be completed. Below the video you'll find examples of Zaw's art pieces: they are hand-painted on sand and cotton, averaging around 40cm in width or height, although Zaw will be happy to adapt to any requirements you may have.
If you would be interested in purchasing his art or would like to ask for a custom order, simply email zaw@seb247.com. Expect roughly a week for Zaw to produce the art piece and another couple of weeks for your art piece to arrive (depending on where you are based on the planet). All sale proceeds go fully to Zaw.
This website and the video were created by Sebastian, after making the acquaintance of Zaw in December 2019.
