If you want a massive, high-load platform specifically engineered for car washing and heavy off-road gear on a Toyota Tacoma, choose YZONA Cargo Basket Roof; if you need a sleek, factory-molded side ladder and storage solution for a Chery iCAR 03, choose YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack. These two products serve completely different vehicles and use cases, yet both promise to transform how you utilize your roof space without compromising the vehicle's aesthetic. I have analyzed the technical specifications and design intent of each unit to help you decide which one aligns with your specific needs, focusing purely on what the data tells us about their construction, capacity, and intended application.
• This pick is for the off-roader who needs a heavy-duty workhorse.
• YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack: Its biggest strength is its precise integration with the Chery iCAR 03, offering a streamlined look with reduced wind noise and a unique side ladder feature. The trade-off is that it lacks the massive load-bearing specs of steel baskets, relying instead on lightweight aluminum alloy construction for daily practicality. This pick is for the urban driver or weekend traveler seeking style and utility.
The YZONA Cargo Basket Roof is built for people who treat their vehicle as a mobile base camp or a rugged hauler. Looking strictly at the data, this unit is designed specifically for the 2005 through 2023 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab and Crew Cab models with four full-size doors. If you own any other vehicle, this basket simply will not fit, so compatibility is the first and most critical factor to consider before even thinking about installation.
What makes this product stand out in the crowded market of roof racks is its staggering load capacity. That is a level of durability that suggests this basket can handle heavy, bulky items without flexing or failing. For someone planning a car wash where they need to rinse off heavy mud from equipment loaded on top, the structural integrity here is reassuring.
The construction materials tell a story of longevity. The frame is made of heavy-duty steel, coated in black powder for a durable finish that resists the elements. Inside, advanced electroplating technology provides waterproofing and rust resistance. This is crucial for anyone living in areas with salt roads or frequent rain. The dimensions are substantial, measuring 61 inches in length, 43 inches in width, and 8 inches in height. While these numbers confirm a large footprint, they also explain the aerodynamic front-end design mentioned in the features. The goal is to cut through the air efficiently, reducing wind resistance and noise despite the large surface area. It adds significant mass to the roof, requiring a sturdy vehicle chassis to manage the extra weight safely.

The YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack targets a very specific niche: owners of the Chery iCAR 03 from model years 2023, 2024, and 2025. Unlike universal baskets, this unit relies on original vehicle data mold opening to ensure uniform gaps and visual coordination with the car's body lines. If you do not drive a Chery iCAR 03, this rack is irrelevant to you. The design philosophy here prioritizes seamless integration over raw, brute-force capacity.
This product introduces a unique element that sets it apart from standard cargo boxes or baskets: the side ladder. While the primary function is to expand roof loading space for travel, the inclusion of a ladder suggests a dual-purpose design. It likely allows for easier access to the roof or serves as a climbing aid for outdoor enthusiasts who might be using the vehicle as a starting point for hiking or exploration. The body is constructed from thickened aluminum alloy, chosen for its balance of rust and corrosion resistance against the weight savings of steel. This material choice keeps the overall unit lighter and less intrusive on the vehicle's fuel efficiency compared to heavier alternatives.
The design emphasizes a streamline modeling approach to reduce wind noise and wind resistance. For a city dweller or a family taking road trips, the acoustic comfort provided by a low-noise rack is often just as important as the storage capacity. The package includes all necessary installation accessories, promising an easy setup process. Since it is sized as "One Size" and matches the specific contours of the Chery iCAR 03, there is no guesswork regarding fitment. It is a practical expansion tool for those who want to carry more luggage or gear without altering the sleek profile of their electric or hybrid SUV.
• Best for vehicle-specific fitment → YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack, molded specifically for the Chery iCAR 03 to ensure perfect gap alignment.
• Best for heavy-duty material durability → YZONA Cargo Basket Roof, utilizing heavy-duty steel with powder coating and electroplating for maximum rust protection.
• Best for wind noise reduction → Both claim streamlined designs, but the YCEPLMG focuses on aerodynamic modeling for lower profile vehicles.
• Best for multi-functionality (ladder) → YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack, featuring an integrated side ladder for access or climbing.
• Best for off-road hauling → YZONA Cargo Basket Roof, with dimensions and weight ratings suited for camping and off-road equipment.
• Best for daily urban driving → YCEPLMG CAR ROOF Rack, due to its lighter aluminum build and seamless visual integration.
• Best for car washing prep → YZONA Cargo Basket Roof, as its robust open design handles muddy gear better than enclosed or smaller platforms.
In my opinion, if you are looking for a solution specifically for car washing scenarios involving heavy, dirty gear, the YZONA Cargo Basket Roof is the superior choice. Its ability to support hundreds of pounds of wet, muddy equipment without sagging makes it the only logical option for serious utility. I would buy the YZONA because the heavy-duty steel construction and massive load capacity offer peace of mind that a lighter aluminum rack cannot match. However, if you drive a Chery iCAR 03 and prioritize style and ease of access over hauling power, the YCEPLMG rack is the right tool for the job. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your vehicle and how much weight you actually intend to carry.
No, neither is universal. The YZONA fits only the 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma Double/Crew Cab, while the YCEPLMG is exclusive to the Chery iCAR 03 (2023–2025).
The YZONA uses heavy-duty steel with powder coating and electroplating for maximum strength and rust resistance, whereas the YCEPLMG uses thickened aluminum alloy to balance weight and corrosion resistance.
Both manufacturers claim streamlined designs to reduce wind resistance and noise. The YZONA features an aerodynamic front end, while the YCEPLMG uses streamline modeling to minimize drag.
