Yvon Verberne
I am an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Western Ontario. Previously, I was an NSERC Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Toronto, an NSERC Postdoctoral Scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Postdoctoral Fellow at ICERM for the semester program, Braids, and a Huneke Endowed Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute for the semester program Random and Arithmetic Structures in Topology.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Kasra Rafi.
My research interests are in geometric group theory. In particular, I am interested in studying the geometry of the mapping class group equipped with the word metric.
My CV is available here.
All meetings with me are by appointment only.
