Exhibit 3

revision

  • I added a candle light and a red glow on the skin

  • I used a LUT called day to night

I took this photograph in Payson Canyon where there was a forest fire. I planned on editing some "magic" coming out of the wand, but with this assignment I really wanted to manipulate the colors and I feel that it gave the original image a very different feel!

Photoshop

  • Vignette Effect - and then changing opacity and brush tool for the red vignette

  • Layering - moon with screen effect

  • Paintbrush tool (opacity 50 - pen pressure) with a color fill over it for the "magic" from the wand

  • Gradient map

Design

  • I kept the colors monochromatic - reds fading to black.

  • I centered the photograph- I know rule of thirds is most pleasing, but I feel that the centering in this photograph really shows that the witch is focused and maybe self absorbed.

  • I used the burn tool to add dimension to the horizon and the sky, it was a little flat.
