I am Yusuf Ziya Şen. I recently completed my PhD in Economics (2026) at the University of Siena. Previously, I was a visiting PhD student at the University of Nottingham and at the Central European University. 

My research interests are in labour economics and task-based technological change, with a growing agenda on AI and the future of work. In my job-market paper, I studied how within-occupation skill obsolescence affects displaced workers’ earnings, employment, mobility, and match quality.
