Earth Sciences PhD Candidate @ University of Oregon
Yu-Sheng Sun is a geophysicist specializing in earthquake and tsunami hazards. He received his B.S. in Earth Science and M.S. in Geophysics from National Central University (NCU), Taiwan. His graduate research focused on tsunami hazard analysis in Taiwan using stochastic slip modeling approaches.
During his studies and subsequent military service at NCU, he contributed to several national projects, including research related to nuclear power plant safety. His broader interests include earthquake forecasting and seismic hazard assessment, with an emphasis on applications to real-world risk mitigation.
He is currently excited to work withDiego Melgar at the University of Oregon and continues to explore new ideas in geophysics and hazard science.
